Why UCalgary SAPL

UCalgary SAPL is the natural local benchmark for Calgary youth because its work sits directly in the city CYDS students study: streets, public spaces, neighbourhoods, climate, landscape, and community life.

Calgary Context

Students use Calgary sites and neighbourhood questions as the foundation for design work.

Landscape and Planning

The track includes landscape, climate, public space, accessibility, and urban-planning thinking.

Community Impact

Projects emphasize listening, local needs, and practical improvements students can explain clearly.

Sample Challenge

Redesign a Calgary school-adjacent street or community park for safer winter movement, clearer gathering spaces, and better youth belonging.
